Here's the straight talk on pairing yerba mate with Aleve Cold and Sinus. The naproxen part of this combo already has a mild blood-thinning, antiplatelet quality, and it can irritate your stomach lining. The theory on file is that the caffeine in yerba mate may add a little extra antiplatelet effect, which could slightly nudge up bleeding risk when taken together.

I want to be honest about how soft this evidence is: it comes from lab and animal studies, not real human reports, so it's largely theoretical. A casual cup of mate is unlikely to be a problem for most people. Just watch for unusual bruising, stomach upset, or dark stools, and check with your pharmacist or doctor if you take this combo regularly or have a bleeding history.

Here's the thing to keep in mind with Aleve Cold and Sinus: the pseudoephedrine part is already a stimulant. It's a decongestant that can rev you up, raise your heart rate, and bump your blood pressure. Yerba mate brings caffeine to the party, and stacking two stimulants together can pile on those same effects.

So when you combine them, you might notice things like a racing or pounding heart, jitteriness, trouble sleeping, anxiousness, or a headache. The naproxen side isn't really the issue here, it's the caffeine plus pseudoephedrine combo. This is based mostly on expert reasoning rather than hard studies, so a single cup probably won't cause trouble for most folks. Still, if you tend to feel wired or have blood pressure concerns, check with your pharmacist or doctor first.
