Here's the piece worth knowing: your Damason-P product already contains caffeine, which is itself a stimulant. 1,3-DMBA is a synthetic stimulant similar to the banned ingredient DMAA, and stacking two stimulants together can add up. In animal studies, 1,3-DMBA raised heart rate and blood pressure, so pairing it with the caffeine in this combo could mean a faster, pounding heartbeat, jitteriness, higher blood pressure, and in rare cases more serious heart or stroke risk.

I want to be honest about the evidence: this concern is mostly theoretical and based on lab and animal data, not strong human studies. Still, 1,3-DMBA isn't a proven safe ingredient and the FDA treats products containing it as adulterated. I'd steer clear of it and check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining anything stimulant-like with this medication.

CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES

Aspirin, Caffeine, Hydrocodone also falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES.

Theoretically, 1,3-DMBA might modestly increase the levels of CYP2D6 substrates.
In vitro research shows that 1,3-DMBA weakly inhibits CYP2D6 enzymes.

Here's the wrinkle with this combo: the hydrocodone part of Damason-P is a prodrug. Your body uses an enzyme called CYP2D6 to convert some of it into hydromorphone, the more potent pain-relieving form. Lab studies suggest 1,3-DMBA weakly blocks that enzyme. In theory, that could mean slightly less conversion, so you might get a touch less pain relief from the hydrocodone, not more.

I want to be honest that this is very weak evidence (test-tube only) and rated minor, so I wouldn't lose sleep over the metabolism piece. My bigger worry is the stimulant itself. 1,3-DMBA is a banned, unsafe ingredient that raises heart rate and blood pressure, and the caffeine here adds to that. Please skip products with it and check with your pharmacist or doctor.
