Here's the simple version: this older combo product (Tedral) already contains ephedrine and theophylline, which are both stimulants in their own right. Ephedrine revs up your fight-or-flight system, and theophylline acts a lot like caffeine on the heart. Stacking 1,3-DMBA on top adds yet another stimulant to the pile. The concern isn't that one blocks or speeds up the other, it's that their effects pile up.

Together, that overlap could push your heart rate and blood pressure higher and bring on a racing or pounding heartbeat, jitteriness, trouble sleeping, headache, or even chest pain. Honestly, 1,3-DMBA isn't a proven safe ingredient and the FDA considers it adulterated, so I'd steer clear of it. This caution is based mostly on animal data and theory, but please run any combination past your pharmacist or doctor first.
