This combination product (Theracaps) contains phenylpropanolamine, a decongestant that acts as a mild stimulant and can nudge your heart rate and blood pressure up. Cola nut is basically a natural source of caffeine, which is also a stimulant. When you stack the two, the worry is that their effects pile on top of each other.

In real life that could mean feeling jittery, a racing or pounding heart, trouble sleeping, restlessness, or a bump in blood pressure. Honestly, this is based more on expert reasoning than on hard studies, so it's a 'be aware' situation rather than a danger. Still, if you have high blood pressure or heart issues, it's worth running it by your pharmacist or doctor before pairing them.

Theracaps is a multi-ingredient cold and cough product, and the part that matters here is the phenylpropanolamine, a decongestant that mildly narrows blood vessels and can nudge your blood pressure up. Cola nut is basically a natural source of caffeine. Put the two together and you can get an additive bump in blood pressure, plus more of the jittery caffeine feeling. Phenylpropanolamine also seems to slow how fast you clear caffeine, so the caffeine hangs around longer.

In real life that could mean a racing or pounding heart, restlessness, trouble sleeping, headache, or feeling wired and shaky. It's a reasonable concern but not an emergency for most people. If you take Theracaps and use cola nut or other caffeine sources, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor first.
