Acetaminophen, Chlorzoxazone, Codeine falls under CYTOCHROME P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) SUBSTRATES — the group Ephedra interacts with.

Theoretically, ephedra might decrease levels of drugs metabolized by CYP1A2.
Some animal research suggests that ephedra induces CYP1A2 and increases the clearance of CYP1A2 substrates such as caffeine.

This combination pill mixes a pain reliever (acetaminophen), a muscle relaxer (chlorzoxazone), and an opioid (codeine). The concern on file is that ephedra may speed up a liver enzyme called CYP1A2, which could lower blood levels of certain drugs it handles. In plain terms, that might make this medicine work a little less well, so your pain or muscle spasms may not be controlled as expected.

Honestly, though, this is a weak, theoretical concern based only on animal and lab studies, not on real people. The bigger issue is ephedra itself, which is banned in supplements because it can dangerously raise heart rate and blood pressure. Please don't use it, and check with your pharmacist or doctor about safer options.

This combination pill has three parts: acetaminophen (a pain reliever that's hard on the liver in large amounts), chlorzoxazone (a muscle relaxer), and codeine (an opioid). The concern here is mainly about your liver. Ephedra supplements have been tied to a number of liver injury cases, and acetaminophen is itself a well-known cause of liver stress. Put them together and, at least in theory, the strain on your liver could add up.

I'll be honest, this is a theoretical concern based on how these substances behave, not proven cause-and-effect, so I don't want to alarm you. Still, ephedra is banned in U.S. supplements for good reason, including heart and stroke risks. Please skip ephedra and ask your pharmacist or doctor about safer options.
