Dasiglucagon Hydrochloride falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Ephedra interacts with.

Theoretically, taking ephedra with antidiabetes drugs might interfere with blood glucose control.
One study in animals shows that some components of ephedra may lower blood glucose levels. However, most human research suggests that ephedra and ephedrine, a component of ephedra, can raise blood glucose levels and might decrease the effectiveness of drug therapy. Monitor blood glucose concentrations closely.

First things first: ephedra is banned from supplements in the U.S. because it can dangerously raise blood pressure and heart rate, so it really shouldn't be in the picture at all. But here's how it lines up with your Zegalogue (dasiglucagon). This is an emergency shot you only use when blood sugar drops too low. It works by telling your liver to dump stored sugar back into the blood.

The wrinkle is that ephedrine, ephedra's main stimulant, tends to raise blood sugar on its own. In a true low-blood-sugar emergency that overlap probably won't stop dasiglucagon from working, but the stimulant effects (racing heart, jitteriness, high blood pressure) could pile onto the rebound and make the moment feel scarier and harder to read. Evidence here is limited and partly theoretical. Please go over any supplements with your pharmacist or doctor.

Brand name: Zegalogue

Zegalogue is used to treat severe hypoglycemia — a dangerously low blood sugar episode — in adults and children aged 6 years and older who have diabetes. Severe hypoglycemia is a medical emergency that requires immediate action.

Zegalogue is not a day-to-day diabetes medicine. It is prescribed as an emergency kit to be on hand in case a person with diabetes becomes unresponsive or cannot safely swallow food or juice to raise their blood sugar.
