Sofosbuvir, Velpatasvir, Voxilaprevir falls under CYTOCHROME P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) SUBSTRATES — the group Ephedra interacts with.

Theoretically, ephedra might decrease levels of drugs metabolized by CYP1A2.
Some animal research suggests that ephedra induces CYP1A2 and increases the clearance of CYP1A2 substrates such as caffeine.

Here's the honest picture for Vosevi (sofosbuvir, velpatasvir, voxilaprevir). The concern on file is that ephedra might speed up an enzyme called CYP1A2, which in theory could clear certain drugs faster and lower their blood levels. But this idea comes only from lab and animal studies, so it's theoretical, not something proven in people taking your hepatitis C medicine.

If anything did lower your Vosevi levels, the worry would be that the treatment doesn't fully clear the virus. Honestly though, the bigger issue is ephedra itself, which is banned in U.S. supplements because of dangerous effects on the heart and blood pressure. Please don't use it. Talk with your pharmacist or doctor about safe choices while you finish your hepatitis C course.

What Is Sofosbuvir, Velpatasvir, and Voxilaprevir Used For?

Brand name: Vosevi

Vosevi is used to treat chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection in adults who do not have cirrhosis or who have compensated cirrhosis (mild liver scarring that is still functioning). It is specifically for people who have already been treated with an HCV regimen before and need a different option.

Vosevi is approved for adults with HCV genotype 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 who previously took a medicine that included an NS5A inhibitor. It is also approved for adults with genotype 1a or 3 who previously took sofosbuvir without an NS5A inhibitor.
