Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS
Why this applies to Effient
Effient falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Green Coffee interacts with.
Green coffee can contain caffeine. Caffeine is reported to have antiplatelet activity. Theoretically, caffeine in green coffee might increase the risk of bleeding when used concomitantly with these agents. However, this interaction has not been reported in humans. There is some evidence that caffeinated coffee might increase the fibrinolytic activity in blood.
Interaction has been demonstrated in animal or in lab research but has been shown not to occur in humans..
Here's the gist for Effient (prasugrel): it's a potent blood thinner that keeps your platelets from clumping together. Green coffee carries caffeine, and caffeine has been reported to have its own mild platelet-blocking activity. So in theory, pairing the two could nudge your bleeding risk a little higher, things like easier bruising, nosebleeds, or bleeding gums that takes longer to stop.
I want to be honest about the strength here, though. This is a theoretical concern based on how these compounds behave, not something that has actually shown up in people taking both. A regular cup of coffee is unlikely to matter much, but concentrated green coffee supplements pack a bigger punch. Since Effient is serious medicine, just run any supplement past your pharmacist or doctor first.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Effient page
“Effient (prasugrel) keeps platelets from forming clots, usually after a stent or a heart attack, and I would not pair supplements with it casually. Roughly 200 ingredients on this list can thin the blood further and raise bleeding risk, including two of the five rated major.”

About Green Coffee
What is Green Coffee?
- Weight loss
- High blood pressure
- Blood sugar control
- Antioxidant support
- General energy
Green coffee is the unroasted bean of the coffee plant, prized for its high chlorogenic acid content. Some early studies suggest modest benefits for weight, blood pressure, and blood sugar, but the evidence is limited and far from conclusive. It contains caffeine, so people sensitive to stimulants should use caution and check with a pharmacist or doctor first.
About Prasugrel
What Is Prasugrel Used For?
Brand name: Prasugrel
Prasugrel tablets (brand names Effient and Prasugrel) are used to lower the risk of dangerous blood clots — including clots that can block a stent — in people with acute coronary syndrome (ACS), which includes unstable angina (chest pain at rest) and heart attacks (both NSTEMI and STEMI types). It is used specifically in patients who are being treated with a procedure called percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), in which a catheter is used to open a blocked coronary artery, often with a stent.
Effient has been shown to reduce the combined rate of cardiovascular death, nonfatal heart attack, or nonfatal stroke compared to clopidogrel — with the benefit driven mainly by fewer heart attacks.
