Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS
Why this applies to Warfarin Sodium
Warfarin Sodium falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Green Coffee interacts with.
Green coffee can contain caffeine. Caffeine is reported to have antiplatelet activity. Theoretically, caffeine in green coffee might increase the risk of bleeding when used concomitantly with these agents. However, this interaction has not been reported in humans. There is some evidence that caffeinated coffee might increase the fibrinolytic activity in blood.
Interaction has been demonstrated in animal or in lab research but has been shown not to occur in humans..
Here's the bottom line on pairing green coffee with warfarin: this is a theoretical concern, not something that has actually been reported in people. The caffeine in green coffee may have a mild blood-thinning effect on platelets, and on paper that could add to what warfarin already does. But there's no real-world evidence showing this combination causes problems.
That said, warfarin is a narrow-therapeutic-index drug, meaning even small shifts can tip you toward too much thinning. If green coffee did nudge things, the worry would be extra bleeding signs like easy bruising, nosebleeds, bleeding gums, or pink urine. Concentrated supplement doses matter more than a casual cup. Before starting any green coffee product, check with your pharmacist or doctor, especially since your INR is being monitored.

About Green Coffee
What is Green Coffee?
- Weight loss
- High blood pressure
- Blood sugar control
- Antioxidant support
- General energy
Green coffee is the unroasted bean of the coffee plant, prized for its high chlorogenic acid content. Some early studies suggest modest benefits for weight, blood pressure, and blood sugar, but the evidence is limited and far from conclusive. It contains caffeine, so people sensitive to stimulants should use caution and check with a pharmacist or doctor first.
About Warfarin
What Is Warfarin Used For?
Brand names: Coumadin, Panwarfin, Sofarin
Warfarin sodium tablets and Jantoven tablets are both used to prevent and treat venous thrombosis (blood clots in the veins) and pulmonary embolism (a clot in the lungs). They are also used to prevent clot-related complications in people with atrial fibrillation (an irregular heart rhythm) or who have had a heart valve replaced.
In people who have had a heart attack, warfarin is used to reduce the risk of death, another heart attack, stroke, or other clotting events. It does not dissolve an existing clot, but it helps prevent the clot from growing and stops new dangerous clots from forming.
