Green Coffee + Ciprofloxacin
Ciprofloxacin brand names: Cipro, Ciprobay, Cipro XR, Ciloxan, Cipro IV, and others.
Green Coffee has a minor interaction with Ciprofloxacin. Theoretically, quinolone antibiotics might increase the levels and adverse effects of caffeine.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
QUINOLONE ANTIBIOTICS
Why this applies to Ciprofloxacin
Ciprofloxacin falls under QUINOLONE ANTIBIOTICS — the group Green Coffee interacts with.
Green coffee can contain caffeine. Concomitant use of quinolones can decrease caffeine clearance and increase effects and risk of adverse effects.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the thing to know about pairing green coffee with Cipro: it's really the caffeine in the green coffee that's the issue, not the antibiotic itself. Ciprofloxacin can slow down how fast your body clears caffeine. So the caffeine you take in sticks around longer and hits harder than it normally would.
In plain terms, you might feel more jittery, anxious, or restless, have a racing heartbeat, or struggle to fall asleep. This is rated a minor, theoretical interaction, so for most folks it's not dangerous, just uncomfortable. If you're sensitive to caffeine, consider easing up on green coffee (and regular coffee or energy drinks) while you're on Cipro. Any questions, your pharmacist is happy to help.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Ciprofloxacin page
“A glass of apple or grapefruit juice can sharply cut how much ciprofloxacin (Cipro) your body absorbs, because these juices block a transporter the antibiotic needs to reach the bloodstream. That is one of eight major-rated risks among the 163 supplement and herbal ingredients on file, and I treat this list as a genuine warning rather…”

About Green Coffee
What is Green Coffee?
- Weight loss
- High blood pressure
- Blood sugar control
- Antioxidant support
- General energy
Green coffee is the unroasted bean of the coffee plant, prized for its high chlorogenic acid content. Some early studies suggest modest benefits for weight, blood pressure, and blood sugar, but the evidence is limited and far from conclusive. It contains caffeine, so people sensitive to stimulants should use caution and check with a pharmacist or doctor first.
About Ciprofloxacin
What Is Ciprofloxacin Used For?
Brand names: Cipro, Ciprobay, Cipro XR, Ciloxan, Cipro IV, Otiprio
Ciprofloxacin belongs to a class of antibiotics called fluoroquinolones. It's prescribed to treat bacterial infections in many parts of the body — including the urinary tract, skin, lungs, bones, joints, and digestive system. It's also used to protect against or treat anthrax and plague after exposure.
Because ciprofloxacin carries real risks, it's reserved for milder conditions like sinus infections, simple bladder infections, and flare-ups of chronic bronchitis only when there are no safer alternatives available.
