Theoretically, green coffee may increase the risk of bleeding if used with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs.
Green coffee can contain caffeine. Caffeine is reported to have antiplatelet activity. Theoretically, caffeine in green coffee might increase the risk of bleeding when used concomitantly with these agents. However, this interaction has not been reported in humans. There is some evidence that caffeinated coffee might increase the fibrinolytic activity in blood.

Here's the gist: Pradaxa (dabigatran) is already a blood thinner, and green coffee has a small, theoretical pull in the same direction. The caffeine and plant compounds in green coffee may have a mild effect on platelets (the cells that help blood clot), so in theory, stacking it on top of your dabigatran could nudge your bleeding risk a little higher.

I want to be honest about the strength here: this is theoretical, based on how these compounds behave, not on real cases in people. Still, since dabigatran needs careful monitoring, it's worth a quick word with your pharmacist or doctor before starting a concentrated green coffee supplement. Watch for things like easy bruising, nosebleeds, bleeding gums, or unusually dark stools, and report them right away.

About Dabigatran

What Is Dabigatran Used For?

Brand names: Pradaxa, Pradax

Dabigatran etexilate capsules are approved for adults to reduce the risk of stroke and systemic embolism (blood clots traveling through the body) in non-valvular atrial fibrillation (an irregular heart rhythm not caused by a heart valve problem). Capsules are also used to treat deep vein thrombosis (DVT — a blood clot in a deep vein, usually the leg) and pulmonary embolism (PE — a clot in the lungs), to prevent those clots from coming back, and to prevent DVT and PE in adults who have had hip replacement surgery.

For children, the capsule form is approved for treating VTE (venous thromboembolism — blood clots in veins) and reducing recurrence in patients aged 8 to under 18. Pradaxa Oral Pellets are approved specifically for children aged 3 months to under 12 years for the same treatment and recurrence-prevention purposes.
