Betaxolol falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group Green Coffee interacts with.

Theoretically, taking green coffee with antihypertensive drugs might increase the risk of hypotension.
Clinical studies have shown that green coffee extract decreases blood pressure. When used with antihypertensive drugs, green coffee might have additive blood pressure-lowering effects. However, this has not been shown in clinical research.

Here's the simple version: betaxolol (Kerlone, Betoptic) is a beta blocker that lowers your blood pressure and slows your heart rate. Green coffee, thanks to its chlorogenic acid, may nudge blood pressure down a little on its own. Put the two together and the effects could in theory stack up, leaving your pressure lower than expected.

If that happened, you might notice things like lightheadedness, dizziness when you stand up, or feeling unusually tired. I'll be honest though: this is mostly a theoretical concern, and good studies haven't actually shown it happening in people. One thing worth knowing is that green coffee also contains caffeine, which can do the opposite and bump pressure up. It's a minor interaction, but check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding a concentrated green coffee supplement.

What Is Betaxolol Used For?

Brand names: Kerlone, Betoptic

Betaxolol eye drops (including Betoptic S) are used to lower elevated intraocular pressure (pressure inside the eye) in people with chronic open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension (high eye pressure without glaucoma). The eye drops may be used alone or alongside other glaucoma medications.

Betaxolol tablets are used to manage high blood pressure (hypertension). They can be used on their own or combined with other blood pressure medications, particularly thiazide-type diuretics.
