Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
THEOPHYLLINE
Green coffee can contain caffeine. Large amounts of caffeine might inhibit theophylline metabolism.
Interaction has not been documented in well-controlled studies, however, the interaction has been demonstrated in some small human studies or in controlled animal studies in conjunction with multiple case reports..
Here's the thing about theophylline: it and caffeine are chemical cousins, and your liver clears both using the same pathway. Green coffee contains caffeine, so taking a lot of it can crowd that pathway and slow how fast theophylline leaves your body. The result can be theophylline building up higher than expected.
Why that matters: theophylline has a narrow safety window, so even small increases can tip you into side effects like a racing or pounding heart, jitteriness, nausea, trouble sleeping, or in larger excesses, tremor or irregular heartbeats. The evidence here is fairly limited, and an occasional cup is different from concentrated supplement doses. Still, before adding a green coffee supplement, please run it by your pharmacist or doctor first.

These are real questions from readers, answered by the pharmacists at HelloPharmacist — written by a person, not generated from a database. Each one covers Green Coffee or Theophylline, not necessarily both, but if one is close to what you were about to ask it will usually go further than a database entry can:

See Every Supplement That Interacts With Theophylline
This page covers Green Coffee only. If you take other supplements — a multivitamin, a sleep aid, something for joints — the Theophylline page lists 126 supplements it has a documented interaction with, worst first, each one explained.
The most serious there right now: Activated Charcoal (major), Ephedra (major), Sida Cordifolia (major), Adrafinil (moderate) and African Wild Potato (moderate).
By severity: 3 major · 89 moderate · 34 minor.
From our pharmacist’s overview on the Theophylline page
“Stop ephedra before anything else if you take theophylline (Theo-Dur, Slo-Bid, and others) for asthma or COPD. Both are stimulants, and together they raise the risk of serious heart and nervous system effects; Sida cordifolia, an herb that contains ephedrine, carries the same major rating.”

About Green Coffee
What is Green Coffee?
- Weight loss
- High blood pressure
- Blood sugar control
- Antioxidant support
- General energy
Green coffee is the unroasted bean of the coffee plant, prized for its high chlorogenic acid content. Some early studies suggest modest benefits for weight, blood pressure, and blood sugar, but the evidence is limited and far from conclusive. It contains caffeine, so people sensitive to stimulants should use caution and check with a pharmacist or doctor first.
About Theophylline
What Is Theophylline Used For?
Brand names: T-Phyl, Duraphyl, Aerolate JR, Aerolate SR, Theo-Dur, Slo-Bid, Theo-24, Uniphyl, Slo-phyllin Gyrocaps, Theolair, Theolair SR, Quibron-T/SR, Quibron-T, Aerolate III, Theo-X, Bronkodyl, Theoclear LA-130, Constant-T, Theoclear LA-260, Elixophyllin, Theovent, Theobid Jr Duracap, Respbid, Theobid Duracap
Theophylline — available as extended-release capsules (Theo-24), extended-release tablets, and oral solution (Elixophyllin) — is used to treat symptoms and reversible airflow obstruction caused by chronic asthma, emphysema, and chronic bronchitis.
All supported formulations share these indications. Theophylline is intended for patients with ongoing or recurring symptoms, not for sudden (acute) breathing attacks, which need faster-acting treatments.

Theophylline Is Linked to Lower Levels of 2 Nutrients
Natural Medicines records Theophylline as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Green Coffee — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
