Theoretically, concomitant use might increase the levels and adverse effects of both caffeine and riluzole.
Green coffee can contain caffeine. Caffeine and riluzole are both metabolized by cytochrome P450 1A2 (CYP1A2), and concomitant use might reduce metabolism of one or both agents.

Here's the gist: both riluzole and the caffeine in green coffee are cleared by the same liver enzyme, called CYP1A2. When they compete for that enzyme, your body may break each one down a little more slowly, so levels of both can creep up. Riluzole is an active drug (not a prodrug), so higher levels generally mean a stronger effect and a greater chance of side effects like dizziness, nausea, tiredness, or stomach upset. The extra caffeine can also leave you jittery, sleepless, or with a racing heart.

To be fair, this concern is theoretical, based on how these substances are processed rather than solid studies, and an occasional cup is different from concentrated green coffee supplements. Still, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before adding it.

Riluzole is approved to treat amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) — the progressive neurological disease also known as Lou Gehrig's disease. This indication is shared across all available riluzole products, including tablets (Rilutek, riluzole), the dissolving oral film (Exservan), and the oral suspension (Tiglutik).

Tiglutik oral suspension is notable in that it can also be given through a PEG-tube (percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy tube) for patients who have difficulty swallowing.
