Why this applies to Vortioxetine

Vortioxetine falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES — the group Lentinan interacts with.

Laboratory research suggests that lentinan might increase the activity of cytochrome P450 2D6 (CYP2D6). So far, this interaction has not been reported in humans. However, watch for a decrease in the levels of drugs metabolized by CYP2D6 in patients taking lentinan.
Some drugs metabolized by CYP2D6 include tricyclic antidepressants such as imipramine (Tofranil) and amitriptyline (Elavil); antipsychotics such as haloperidol (Haldol), risperidone (Risperdal), and chlorpromazine (Thorazine); beta-blockers such as propranolol (Inderal), metoprolol (Lopressor, Toprol XL), and carvedilol (Coreg); tamoxifen (Nolvadex); and others.

Here's the situation with Trintellix (vortioxetine) and lentinan. Your body relies heavily on a liver enzyme called CYP2D6 to break vortioxetine down. Lab studies hint that lentinan might rev up that enzyme, which would clear the drug out of your system faster. Since vortioxetine is active as-is (not a prodrug that needs switching on), faster clearance could mean lower levels and a weaker antidepressant effect, so your mood symptoms might creep back.

The key thing to know: this has only been seen in test-tube and animal research, never in actual people, so it's quite theoretical. Still, if you start lentinan and notice your depression isn't as well controlled, mention it to your pharmacist or doctor rather than adjusting anything yourself.
