Moringa + Rabeprazole Sodium
Rabeprazole Sodium brand names: Aciphex, Aciphex Sprinkle.
Moringa has a moderate interaction with Rabeprazole Sodium. Theoretically, moringa might increase or decrease levels of CYP3A4 substrates.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Rabeprazole Sodium
Rabeprazole Sodium falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Moringa interacts with.
Some in vitro research suggests that moringa inhibits cytochrome P450 3A4 (CYP3A4). However, other in vitro research suggests that moringa extract induces CYP3A4 enzymes. A pharmacokinetic study in patients with HIV shows no change in the pharmacokinetics of nevirapine, which is partially metabolized by CYP3A4, when administered concomitantly with moringa leaf powder 1.85 grams daily for 14 days.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the situation with moringa and your rabeprazole (Aciphex). Your body partly uses an enzyme called CYP3A4 to break this acid reducer down. In lab dishes, moringa has gone both ways: some studies say it slows CYP3A4 (which could let rabeprazole build up a little, possibly meaning more side effects like headache or upset stomach), while other studies say it speeds the enzyme up (which could weaken the drug and let heartburn sneak back). So the direction honestly isn't clear.
The good news is this concern comes from test-tube research, not real people, and a human study with a similar CYP3A4 drug showed no real change. So I wouldn't lose sleep over a smoothie or seasoning. Just give your pharmacist a heads-up before using concentrated moringa supplements.

About Moringa
What is Moringa?
- Nutritional supplement
- Blood sugar support
- Cholesterol support
- Inflammation
- Skin conditions
Moringa is a nutrient-rich plant whose leaves are widely used as a food and supplement, especially in parts of the world where malnutrition is common. Early research hints at possible benefits for blood sugar, cholesterol, and inflammation, but the human evidence is limited and not strong enough to recommend it as a treatment. Talk with your pharmacist or doctor before using moringa, especially if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or taking medications.
About Rabeprazole
What Is Rabeprazole Used For?
Brand names: Aciphex, Aciphex Sprinkle
Rabeprazole delayed-release tablets treat a range of acid-related conditions in adults, including healing and maintenance of erosive or ulcerative GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease), symptomatic GERD, duodenal ulcers, and pathological hypersecretory conditions such as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. They are also used alongside antibiotics (amoxicillin and clarithromycin) to eradicate H. pylori bacteria and reduce the risk of duodenal ulcer coming back.
In adolescents 12 years and older, rabeprazole delayed-release tablets are approved for short-term treatment of symptomatic GERD. Both AcipHex and Rabeprazole Sodium delayed-release tablets share this indication set for adults and adolescents 12 and older.
