Seglentis pairs celecoxib (an anti-inflammatory) with tramadol, a pain reliever that also acts on the brain and can make you feel sleepy or foggy. Rauvolfia vomitoria contains reserpine-like alkaloids that calm the nervous system and have shown sedative effects in animal studies. The concern here is simple: stacking two things that slow you down. Combined, they could leave you drowsier, dizzier, or more lightheaded than expected, which makes driving and tasks needing focus risky.

I want to be honest that this is a theoretical caution drawn from how these compounds behave, not from strong human studies. Reserpine can also lower blood pressure and mood, which could add to that sluggish feeling. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them, and don't stop anything on your own.

Theoretically, Rauvolfia vomitoria might increase the levels and clinical effects of CYP2D6 substrates.
Rauvolfia vomitoria contains small amounts of the drug yohimbine. In vitro research shows that yohimbine inhibits CYP2D6 enzyme activity.

Here's the wrinkle with Seglentis (which combines celecoxib and tramadol): the tramadol piece is actually a prodrug. Your liver enzyme called CYP2D6 turns tramadol into its stronger pain-relieving form. Rauvolfia vomitoria contains a small amount of yohimbine, which in lab testing slows that same enzyme down.

So in theory, blocking CYP2D6 could leave you with less of tramadol's active painkiller, meaning weaker pain relief. At the same time, the parent tramadol can linger, which may add to side effects like nausea, dizziness, or drowsiness. Honestly, this is based only on test-tube research, so the real-world effect is uncertain. Still, Rauvolfia is a potent plant on its own, so please check with your pharmacist or doctor before pairing the two.
