Here's the concern with pairing this herb with Pericyazine. Pericyazine is an older antipsychotic that calms an overactive nervous system, partly by lowering dopamine activity and dampening certain nerve signals. Rauvolfia vomitoria contains reserpine, which works in a related way by draining the brain and body of chemical messengers like dopamine and norepinephrine. Stack the two together and their effects can pile on top of each other.

In real life that could mean heavier sedation, dizziness, low blood pressure when standing, and a higher chance of stiffness, tremor, or restless movement. This warning is based on how the two work rather than on hard studies, but because the overlap is so logical, please don't combine them without talking to your doctor or pharmacist first.
