Linagliptin falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Tiratricol interacts with.

Theoretically, tiratricol might interfere with blood glucose control.
Tiratricol is related to thyroid hormones, such as levothyroxine, which can interfere with blood glucose control and necessitate adjustment of diabetes drug therapy. It is not known if tiratricol has these effects.

Here's the short version: tiratricol acts like a thyroid hormone, and thyroid hormones can nudge your blood sugar upward. Linagliptin (Tradjenta) works the opposite direction by helping your body lower blood sugar after meals. So the worry is that tiratricol could work against your linagliptin and make your numbers harder to control. To be clear, this is a theoretical concern based on how these substances behave, not something proven with tiratricol itself, so I don't want you to panic.

The bigger issue, honestly, is tiratricol itself. The FDA has warned people not to use it because it can stress the heart and thyroid. I would steer clear of any product containing it and talk with your pharmacist or doctor before adding anything new alongside your diabetes medicine.

Tradjenta (linagliptin) is used to help control blood sugar in adults with type 2 diabetes. It is meant to be used together with healthy eating and regular exercise, not as a replacement for them.

Linagliptin is not for type 1 diabetes, and it has not been studied in people with a history of pancreatitis.
