Viloxazine Hydrochloride falls under CYTOCHROME P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) INHIBITORS — the group Yerba Mate interacts with.

Theoretically, concomitant use of CYP1A2 inhibitors and yerba mate might increase levels and adverse effects of the caffeine in yerba mate.
Yerba mate contains caffeine. Caffeine is metabolized by CYP1A2. Theoretically, drugs that inhibit CYP1A2 may decrease the rate of caffeine clearance and increase caffeine levels.

Here's the simple version: viloxazine (Qelbreenda) is a known blocker of the liver enzyme CYP1A2, and that's the very same enzyme your body uses to clear caffeine. Since yerba mate is loaded with caffeine, taking the two together means the caffeine may hang around longer and build up higher than usual. In plain terms, your cup of mate could hit harder and last longer.

What might you feel? More of the typical caffeine stuff: jitteriness, a racing or pounding heart, trouble sleeping, anxiety, or an upset stomach. The good news is this is rated minor and is mostly theoretical, not proven. You don't need to quit mate, but if you notice extra buzz, ease back on how much you drink and check with your pharmacist or doctor.
