Theoretically, concomitant use of chanca piedra with diuretics might increase diuresis.
Some preliminary clinical research in adults with hypertension shows that chanca piedra has diuretic properties. However, higher quality research in adults with kidney stones shows taking chanca piedra does not increase urine volume when compared with placebo. Until more is known, use cautiously in patients taking diuretic drugs.

Here's the gist for your Uniretic, which combines hydrochlorothiazide (a water pill) with moexipril (an ACE inhibitor for blood pressure). Chanca piedra has a long folk reputation as a 'stone breaker,' and a little early research hints it may have a mild water-flushing (diuretic) effect of its own. The worry is simple: if you stack a possible diuretic herb on top of your hydrochlorothiazide, the two together could nudge you toward losing a bit more fluid than intended.

In real life that might show up as lightheadedness when you stand, extra dehydration, or low potassium or sodium. Honestly though, this is a theoretical concern based on how things work, and one good study found chanca piedra did not increase urine output. So don't panic, just loop in your pharmacist or doctor before adding it, especially if you ever feel dizzy or weak.

Theoretically, concomitant use of chanca piedra with antihypertensive drugs might have additive blood pressure lowering effects.
Animal research suggests that chanca piedra can decrease blood pressure. However, this effect was not observed in most hypertensive patients treated with chanca piedra for 10 days.

Your Uniretic combines two blood pressure medicines: hydrochlorothiazide (a water pill) and moexipril (an ACE inhibitor). On paper, chanca piedra has shown some blood-pressure-lowering activity, mostly in animal studies. So in theory, pairing it with a medicine already designed to lower your pressure could nudge things down a little more.

Honestly, this is a very minor and unlikely concern. When chanca piedra was actually tested in people with high blood pressure for 10 days, it didn't really move the needle. Still, if you do try it, just keep an eye out for signs your pressure is dropping too far, like dizziness, lightheadedness when standing, or feeling unusually tired. It's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before starting it.
