Theoretically, concomitant use of chanca piedra with antihypertensive drugs might have additive blood pressure lowering effects.
Animal research suggests that chanca piedra can decrease blood pressure. However, this effect was not observed in most hypertensive patients treated with chanca piedra for 10 days.

Here's the simple version: Phenoxybenzamine already lowers blood pressure as part of how it works for pheochromocytoma. Chanca piedra has shown a mild blood pressure lowering effect in some animal studies, so on paper, pairing the two could nudge your pressure down a little further.

I want to keep this in perspective. This is a theoretical concern based on lab and animal data, and in a human study most people taking chanca piedra for 10 days didn't actually see a drop. Still, phenoxybenzamine can already cause dizziness, lightheadedness when you stand up, a fast heartbeat, or even fainting. If you add chanca piedra, watch for those signs and rise slowly. Before starting it, please run it by your pharmacist or doctor.

What Is Phenoxybenzamine Used For?

Brand name: Dibenzyline

Phenoxybenzamine hydrochloride capsules are used to treat pheochromocytoma — a rare tumor of the adrenal gland that releases large bursts of stress hormones, causing dangerous spikes in blood pressure and heavy sweating. The capsules help keep those episodes under control.

If the heart rate becomes too fast during treatment, a doctor may also prescribe a beta-blocker alongside phenoxybenzamine.
