Torsemide falls under DIURETIC DRUGS — the group Chanca Piedra interacts with.

Theoretically, concomitant use of chanca piedra with diuretics might increase diuresis.
Some preliminary clinical research in adults with hypertension shows that chanca piedra has diuretic properties. However, higher quality research in adults with kidney stones shows taking chanca piedra does not increase urine volume when compared with placebo. Until more is known, use cautiously in patients taking diuretic drugs.

Here's the gist with Torsemide and chanca piedra. Torsemide is a strong water pill that pushes your kidneys to flush out extra salt and water. Some early research hints that chanca piedra may have a mild water-pill effect of its own. So the worry is that stacking the two could, in theory, make you lose a little more fluid than expected.

If that happened, you might notice things like dizziness, lightheadedness when standing, leg cramps, or feeling extra thirsty or run-down, which can point to dehydration or low potassium. I want to be honest though: this is theoretical, based on how the herb might act, not solid proof. Other good studies didn't show more urine output. Before combining them, just check with your pharmacist or doctor so they can keep an eye on your fluids and blood pressure.

Theoretically, concomitant use of chanca piedra with antihypertensive drugs might have additive blood pressure lowering effects.
Animal research suggests that chanca piedra can decrease blood pressure. However, this effect was not observed in most hypertensive patients treated with chanca piedra for 10 days.

Here's the gist: torsemide is a water pill that lowers blood pressure by helping your body clear extra salt and fluid. Chanca piedra has been shown in animal studies to nudge blood pressure down a bit, so in theory, pairing the two could add up and lower your numbers a little more than expected.

That said, I don't want to overstate this. The evidence is mostly theoretical, and when chanca piedra was actually tested in people with high blood pressure for about 10 days, most folks didn't see a meaningful drop. If you do combine them, just keep an eye out for signs your pressure dipped too low, like dizziness, lightheadedness when standing, or feeling unusually tired. It's a good idea to mention the supplement to your pharmacist or doctor so they can keep tabs on you.

What Is Torsemide Used For?

Brand names: Demadex, Soaanz

Torsemide tablets are used to treat edema — swelling caused by excess fluid — in people with heart failure, renal disease (kidney disease), or hepatic disease (liver disease). It helps the body get rid of that extra fluid through increased urination.

Torsemide tablets are also used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). Lowering blood pressure reduces the risk of serious events like strokes and heart attacks. It can be used alone or combined with other blood pressure medications.
