Insulin falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Ephedra interacts with.

Theoretically, taking ephedra with antidiabetes drugs might interfere with blood glucose control.
One study in animals shows that some components of ephedra may lower blood glucose levels. However, most human research suggests that ephedra and ephedrine, a component of ephedra, can raise blood glucose levels and might decrease the effectiveness of drug therapy. Monitor blood glucose concentrations closely.

Here's the practical picture with your NovoRapid insulin. Ephedra acts like a stimulant (it contains ephedrine), and in most people that tends to push blood sugar up. If your sugar runs higher than usual, your normal insulin dose may not keep up, so you could see numbers creeping up and feel the usual high-sugar signs like extra thirst, frequent bathroom trips, or fatigue.

There's a wrinkle: one animal study hinted ephedra might lower sugar instead, so the effect isn't perfectly predictable. Beyond all that, ephedra itself is banned in U.S. supplements because of serious heart and stroke risks, so I really wouldn't use it. Please don't change your insulin on your own. Talk with your pharmacist or doctor about safer choices and what your meter is showing.
