Interaction has not been documented in well-controlled studies, however, the interaction has been demonstrated in some small human studies or in controlled animal studies in conjunction with multiple case reports..

Dr. Brian Staiger, PharmD, BCPS
Dr. Brian Staiger explains PharmD, Clinical Pharmacist

Here's the simple version: green coffee naturally contains caffeine, and dexamfetamine is already a strong stimulant. When you stack two stimulants together, their effects can add up. So you may notice more of the things dexamfetamine can already cause, like a racing or pounding heart, higher blood pressure, jitteriness, trouble sleeping, anxiety, or feeling wired and on edge.

This isn't a deep chemical clash where one changes how the other is broken down. It's more of an additive bump, and it's based largely on expert opinion rather than hard studies. A regular cup of coffee may add little, but concentrated green coffee supplements pack more caffeine. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before pairing them, especially if you notice heart symptoms.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Dexamfetamine page

“Dexamfetamine is already a powerful stimulant, used for ADHD and narcolepsy, so most of the 84 supplements on this list matter because they push the same way. Forty-four are stimulants themselves, from everyday caffeine sources like coffee and tea up to ephedra, one of six major-rated entries and one I would not combine at all.”

About Green Coffee

What is Green Coffee?

Green Coffee
  • Weight loss
  • High blood pressure
  • Blood sugar control
  • Antioxidant support
  • General energy

Green coffee is the unroasted bean of the coffee plant, prized for its high chlorogenic acid content. Some early studies suggest modest benefits for weight, blood pressure, and blood sugar, but the evidence is limited and far from conclusive. It contains caffeine, so people sensitive to stimulants should use caution and check with a pharmacist or doctor first.
