Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
MONOAMINE OXIDASE INHIBITORS (MAOIs)
Why this applies to Rasagiline
Rasagiline falls under MONOAMINE OXIDASE INHIBITORS (MAOIs) — the group Green Coffee interacts with.
Green coffee can contain caffeine. Caffeine has been shown to inhibit monoamine oxidase (MAO) A and B in laboratory studies. Concomitant intake of large amounts of caffeine with MAOIs might precipitate a hypertensive crisis.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here is the gist with green coffee and your rasagiline (Azilect). Rasagiline blocks an enzyme called MAO-B to help your Parkinson's symptoms. Green coffee naturally contains caffeine, and in lab studies caffeine can also dampen MAO activity. The worry is that stacking the two could, in theory, push blood pressure up too far, what we call a hypertensive crisis (a sudden, dangerous spike with pounding headache, chest pain, or a racing heart).
I want to be honest: this is theoretical, based on how things work in a test tube, not on real patients having problems. A normal cup of coffee usually is not the concern. Concentrated green coffee weight-loss supplements deliver a bigger caffeine load, so that is where I would be cautious. Please run any green coffee product by your pharmacist or doctor before starting.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Rasagiline page
“Rasagiline (Azilect) treats Parkinson's disease by blocking monoamine oxidase, the same enzyme that clears tyramine from aged and fermented foods. That shared pathway explains most of the 14 major-rated interactions on this page.”

About Green Coffee
What is Green Coffee?
- Weight loss
- High blood pressure
- Blood sugar control
- Antioxidant support
- General energy
Green coffee is the unroasted bean of the coffee plant, prized for its high chlorogenic acid content. Some early studies suggest modest benefits for weight, blood pressure, and blood sugar, but the evidence is limited and far from conclusive. It contains caffeine, so people sensitive to stimulants should use caution and check with a pharmacist or doctor first.
