ESTROGENS

Why this applies to Relugolix, Estradiol, Norethindrone Acetate

Theoretically, estrogens might increase the levels and adverse effects of caffeine.

Severity Moderate Likelihood Probable Evidence B

Interaction has not been documented in well-controlled studies, however, the interaction has been demonstrated in some small human studies or in controlled animal studies in conjunction with multiple case reports..

Dr. Brian Staiger, PharmD, BCPS
Dr. Brian Staiger explains PharmD, Clinical Pharmacist

Here's the thing to know about Myfembree: it contains estradiol, an estrogen. Estrogens can slow down how your body clears caffeine. Since green coffee naturally contains caffeine, taking the two together means caffeine may hang around longer and build up a bit more than usual.

In plain terms, you might feel more of the typical caffeine effects, like jitteriness, a racing or pounding heart, trouble sleeping, or feeling on edge. This isn't dangerous for most people, and a single cup's worth of caffeine is unlikely to cause trouble. Concentrated green coffee supplements are more likely to stack up. If you notice these symptoms or want to be safe, just check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding it.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Relugolix, Estradiol, Norethindrone Acetate page

“Grapefruit is where I would start on this page. Myfembree (relugolix, estradiol, and norethindrone acetate) depends on the CYP3A4 enzyme to be cleared, and grapefruit juice blocks that enzyme, raising drug levels and side effect risk.”

About Green Coffee

What is Green Coffee?

Green Coffee
  • Weight loss
  • High blood pressure
  • Blood sugar control
  • Antioxidant support
  • General energy

Green coffee is the unroasted bean of the coffee plant, prized for its high chlorogenic acid content. Some early studies suggest modest benefits for weight, blood pressure, and blood sugar, but the evidence is limited and far from conclusive. It contains caffeine, so people sensitive to stimulants should use caution and check with a pharmacist or doctor first.
