Green Coffee and Vibegron

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.

Moderate

BETA-ADRENERGIC AGONISTS

Why this applies to Vibegron

Vibegron falls under BETA-ADRENERGIC AGONISTS — the group Green Coffee interacts with.

Theoretically, concomitant use of large amounts of green coffee might increase cardiac inotropic effects of beta-agonists.
Green coffee can contain caffeine. Caffeine can increase cardiac inotropic effects of beta-agonists.
Severity Moderate Likelihood Probable Evidence D

Interaction has not been documented in well-controlled studies, however, the interaction has been demonstrated in some small human studies or in controlled animal studies in conjunction with multiple case reports..

Dr. Brian Staiger, PharmD, BCPS
Dr. Brian Staiger explains PharmD, Clinical Pharmacist

Here's the simple version: green coffee naturally contains caffeine, and caffeine is a stimulant that can nudge your heart to beat a little harder and faster. Vibegron (Gemtesa) belongs to a family of drugs that can have a mild effect on the heart too. On paper, stacking the two together could add up, so you might feel things like a racing or pounding heart, jitteriness, or a small bump in blood pressure.

The honest part: this concern is theoretical and based on how these things work, not on solid studies with Vibegron itself. A normal cup of coffee likely won't cause trouble, but concentrated green coffee supplements deliver more caffeine. If you take both, please mention it to your pharmacist or doctor so they can keep an eye on your heart rate and blood pressure.

“Three items on this page deserve more attention than the other 154 combined for anyone taking vibegron (Gemtesa) for overactive bladder. Grapefruit can raise the drug's blood level by blocking the enzyme that clears it, St.”

About Green Coffee

What is Green Coffee?

Green Coffee
  • Weight loss
  • High blood pressure
  • Blood sugar control
  • Antioxidant support
  • General energy

Green coffee is the unroasted bean of the coffee plant, prized for its high chlorogenic acid content. Some early studies suggest modest benefits for weight, blood pressure, and blood sugar, but the evidence is limited and far from conclusive. It contains caffeine, so people sensitive to stimulants should use caution and check with a pharmacist or doctor first.
