Zopiclone falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Hemp interacts with.

Theoretically, hemp might decrease the levels and clinical effects of CYP3A4 substrates.

Here's the gist for zopiclone, the sleep medicine many folks take for short-term insomnia. Your body relies on a liver enzyme called CYP3A4 to break it down and clear it out. Some early lab research hints that hemp might rev up (induce) that enzyme, which could mean your body clears zopiclone a little faster. In practical terms, that might make it work less well, so you could feel like it isn't helping you fall or stay asleep as much as usual.

I want to be honest about how weak this signal is. It comes only from test-tube studies, not real people, and it's rated as a minor, possible interaction. Everyday hemp seeds or hemp oil in food are very unlikely to matter. If you take concentrated hemp supplements and notice your sleep slipping, just check in with your pharmacist or doctor before changing anything.
