STIMULANT DRUGS
Why this applies to Aspirin, Caffeine
Aspirin, Caffeine falls under STIMULANT DRUGS — the group Hordenine interacts with.
Some of these drugs include amphetamine, caffeine, methylphenidate, pseudoephedrine, and many others.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
The part of Anacin we care about here is the caffeine. Hordenine acts like a mild stimulant in the body, similar to compounds in bitter orange. Caffeine is also a stimulant, so stacking the two could nudge your heart and blood pressure in the same direction at the same time. That might show up as a faster or pounding heartbeat, jitteriness, trouble sleeping, or a bump in blood pressure.
I want to be honest with you: this concern is theoretical, based on how these ingredients behave rather than on solid human studies. The aspirin side isn't really the issue. Still, since hordenine itself is poorly studied, I'd run it by your pharmacist or doctor before combining them, especially if you have any heart concerns or high blood pressure.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Aspirin, Caffeine page
“Anacin combines aspirin with caffeine, so supplements can hit it from two directions, and a few of the 347 on this list deserve real respect. The biggest group, over 200 ingredients, can raise bleeding risk on top of aspirin's blood-thinning effect; beer and wine carry major ratings because alcohol plus an aspirin-type drug makes stoma…”

About Hordenine
What is Hordenine?
- Energy and stimulation
- Athletic and workout performance
- Weight loss/fat burning
- Focus and mood
- Appetite control
Hordenine is a natural alkaloid found in barley and some cacti that is marketed as a stimulant for energy, focus, and fat loss, but solid human evidence for these benefits is lacking. Its safety in people has not been well studied, so caution is warranted, and it should be avoided in pregnancy, breastfeeding, and by people with heart conditions.
