Here's the simple version: Tresiba is a long-acting insulin that keeps your blood sugar steady through the day and night. The caffeine in yerba mate can nudge blood sugar a little, but the reports are mixed. Some say it raises sugar, some say it lowers it, so we can't even predict the direction with confidence. This is rated a minor and unlikely concern, and the evidence behind it is weak and mostly theoretical.

For most folks, a cup or two of mate alongside Tresiba won't cause trouble. The thing to watch for is anything that masks a low blood sugar (shakiness, sweating, fast heartbeat), since caffeine can feel similar. If you drink mate regularly, just keep an eye on your readings and mention it to your pharmacist or doctor so they can confirm what's right for you.

What Is Insulin Degludec (rDNA Origin) Injection Used For?

Brand name: Tresiba

Insulin degludec (brand name Tresiba) is used to improve blood sugar (glucose) control in adults and children 1 year of age and older who have diabetes mellitus — including both type 1 and type 2 diabetes.

It is not recommended for treating diabetic ketoacidosis (a dangerous complication of diabetes that requires a different type of treatment). In people with type 1 diabetes, insulin degludec must always be used together with a short-acting insulin.
