HelloPharmacist Scorecard of PS Brain Support by Purity Products
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
PS Brain Support contains one active ingredient: Sharp-PS Green Phosphatidylserine. Phosphatidylserine is a naturally occurring compound that plays a role in cell membrane structure and is thought to support brain function.
The product also includes sunflower oil and a soft gelatin capsule as inactive ingredients.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
Phosphatidylserine is possibly effective for age-related cognitive decline and Alzheimer disease, based on the data we hold. For athletic performance, ADHD, general cognitive function, and dementia, the evidence isn't established enough to rate.
The ingredient's benefits for thinking and memory aren't fully proven across all conditions.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Phosphatidylserine is generally well tolerated, though long-term safety isn't fully established. The most common side effects are flatulence, gastrointestinal upset, headache, insomnia, and nausea — with insomnia more likely at higher doses (600 mg) and stomach upset possible at 200–300 mg daily.
Do not use this product during pregnancy — there isn't enough safety information. Safety while breastfeeding is also unknown, so avoidance is recommended.
Talk with your doctor or pharmacist about your specific situation before taking it if you're pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Check with your doctor or pharmacist before taking this product if you use anticholinergic drugs (medications that block acetylcholine activity, used for conditions like overactive bladder or certain types of tremor) or cholinergic drugs (medications that increase acetylcholine activity). Both categories have moderate-severity theoretical interactions with phosphatidylserine.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
PS Brain Support may be worth considering if you're concerned about age-related memory loss or Alzheimer disease, though the evidence is modest. If you take anticholinergic or cholinergic medications, check your exact drugs with your doctor or pharmacist before starting — this supplement could theoretically interfere with how they work.
Avoid it during pregnancy and breastfeeding unless your healthcare provider advises otherwise.

HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
PS Brain Support by Purity Products contains phosphatidylserine, which interacts with two drug categories.
The most serious concern is with anticholinergic drugs (Moderate severity) — medications that block acetylcholine activity. Phosphatidylserine is thought to increase acetylcholine levels, which could theoretically decrease how well these drugs work.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Phosphatidylserine may also have additive effects with cholinergic drugs (Moderate severity) — medications that increase acetylcholine activity. When combined, the two could theoretically cause stronger cholinergic effects than either alone.
Altogether, these interactions span 219 individual medications. If you take any medication for these purposes, use the search tool on this page to check your exact drugs before starting this supplement.
