Dr. Brian Staiger explains PharmD, Clinical Pharmacist

The piece of Zutripro that matters here is the pseudoephedrine, which is a decongestant that gently revs up your system. Coffee's caffeine does something similar. Stacked together, the two stimulants can add up and leave you feeling jittery, anxious, or like your heart is racing or pounding. Some folks also notice trouble sleeping or a bump in blood pressure.

This is mostly an expert-opinion concern, not something proven in big studies, so a normal cup or two probably won't cause a problem for most people. Just be mindful of the heavy coffee or energy-drink days. Keep in mind the hydrocodone side can also make you drowsy, so the mix of effects can feel odd. If you have heart issues or high blood pressure, check with your pharmacist or doctor first.

About Coffee

  • Alertness and reducing fatigue
  • Mental focus and concentration
  • Athletic performance
  • Headache relief
  • Weight management

Coffee is a widely consumed beverage made from roasted coffee beans, valued mainly for its caffeine, which boosts alertness and energy. For most healthy adults, moderate coffee intake is generally safe and may have some health benefits, but too much can cause jitteriness, poor sleep, and a faster heartbeat. People who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or sensitive to caffeine should limit their intake and check with a doctor or pharmacist.
