ANTIDIABETES DRUGS
Why this applies to Glyburide
Glyburide falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Coffee interacts with.
Coffee contains caffeine. Reports claim that caffeine might increase or decrease blood sugar levels.
Interaction has been demonstrated in animal or in lab research but has been shown not to occur in humans..
Here's the short version: your morning cup of coffee isn't likely to cause real trouble with glyburide. Glyburide works by nudging your pancreas to release more insulin, which lowers your blood sugar. The caffeine in coffee has a mild and frankly unpredictable effect on blood sugar, some reports say it can raise it a little, others say it can lower it. That's why this is rated as a minor and unlikely interaction based on fairly weak evidence.
What this really means for you: a sudden jump in your coffee habit could, in theory, make your numbers a touch harder to read. Watch for signs of low blood sugar like shakiness, sweating, or feeling dizzy, since caffeine jitters can feel similar. Keep your coffee intake steady day to day, and if you notice odd swings, chat with your pharmacist or doctor before changing anything.

About Coffee
What is Coffee?
- Alertness and reducing fatigue
- Mental focus and concentration
- Athletic performance
- Headache relief
- Weight management
Coffee is a widely consumed beverage made from roasted coffee beans, valued mainly for its caffeine, which boosts alertness and energy. For most healthy adults, moderate coffee intake is generally safe and may have some health benefits, but too much can cause jitteriness, poor sleep, and a faster heartbeat. People who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or sensitive to caffeine should limit their intake and check with a doctor or pharmacist.
About Glyburide
What Is Glyburide Used For?
Brand names: Diabeta, Micronase, Glynase, Glycron, Micronized, Glynase PresTab, Albert Glyburide
Glyburide tablets are used alongside diet and exercise to help control blood sugar in adults with type 2 diabetes. It is not for type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis (a serious complication where the body produces dangerous levels of acids called ketones).
Glyburide may be used alone or combined with metformin when metformin alone is not enough. It can also be used to help transition patients who are moving from insulin or other diabetes pills to a new regimen, under a doctor's guidance.

Glyburide Is Linked to Lower Levels of One Nutrient
Natural Medicines records Glyburide as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Coffee — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
