Amoxapine falls under TRICYCLIC ANTIDEPRESSANTS (TCAs) — the group Coffee interacts with.

Theoretically, TCAs might bind with coffee constituents when taken at the same time.
In vitro research suggests that the tannins in coffee might cause precipitation of TCAs. However, this effect has not been reported in humans.

Here's the gist for amoxapine and your morning cup. In a lab dish, the tannins in coffee can bind to tricyclic antidepressants like amoxapine and cause them to clump together. In theory, that could mean less of the medicine gets absorbed if the two mix in your stomach at the same time. Importantly, this has only been seen in a test tube, never reported in actual people, so the real-world risk looks small.

If anything, the concern would be slightly weaker absorption, not stronger. To be safe and simple, you can separate your coffee from your amoxapine dose by an hour or two. Have questions about timing? Your pharmacist is happy to help.
