Tarka is a combination pill that pairs trandolapril (a blood pressure medicine) with verapamil (a calcium channel blocker). The piece that matters here is the verapamil. Verapamil can slow down how your body clears caffeine, raising caffeine blood levels by roughly 25 percent. Since cola nut is basically a caffeine source, taking the two together can leave more caffeine circulating than usual.

In real life that mostly means the jittery, stimulant side of caffeine may feel stronger: a faster or pounding heartbeat, restlessness, trouble sleeping, or feeling wired. This is a theoretical concern based on how the drugs behave, not strong proof, so it's nothing to panic over. Note that occasional small amounts matter less than concentrated cola nut supplements. If you take Tarka and want to use cola nut regularly, just run it by your pharmacist or doctor first.
