Theoretically, taking danshen with antihypertensive drugs might increase the risk of hypotension.
Animal research suggests that danshen can produce dose-dependent hypotensive effects. Furthermore, concomitant use with captopril appears to potentiate this effect.

Levamlodipine (Conjupri) is a calcium channel blocker that lowers your blood pressure by relaxing and widening your blood vessels. Here's the thing about Danshen: some animal studies suggest it can lower blood pressure too, on its own. So the worry is that stacking the two together could push your blood pressure down a little too far.

If that happened, you might feel dizzy or lightheaded, especially when standing up quickly, and you could feel more tired or even faint. I'll be honest with you though, this concern comes from lab and animal research, not solid human studies, so it's more theoretical than proven. Still, since both can lower blood pressure, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them, and keep an eye on your readings at home.

Levamlodipine also falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES.

Danshen might alter the levels and clinical effects of drugs metabolized by CYP3A4.
Preliminary clinical research in healthy males shows that the administration of danshen for 10-14 days induces intestinal CYP3A4 and increases the clearance of midazolam, a CYP3A4 substrate. The maximum concentration of midazolam was decreased by 31% to 67%, and drug levels were decreased by 27% to 80%. However, a single dose of danshen has the opposite effect, increasing maximum concentrations of midazolam by 87%.

Here's the thing about levamlodipine (Conjupri): it's an active blood pressure pill, not a prodrug, and your body relies on an enzyme called CYP3A4 to break it down. Danshen seems to nudge that enzyme in different directions depending on how you take it, which makes this a bit tricky.

If you use Danshen regularly for a couple of weeks, early human research suggests it can speed up that enzyme and clear drugs out faster. For levamlodipine, that could mean weaker blood pressure control. A single dose, on the other hand, may briefly raise levels, which could nudge you toward dizziness, flushing, or ankle swelling. The evidence here is still limited, so don't panic, but please loop in your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

Theoretically, taking danshen in combination with amlodipine may decrease the clinical effects of amlodipine.
In animal research, taking danshen orally in combination with amlodipine reduced blood levels of amlodipine by about 52%. This may have been due to induction of cytochrome P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) by danshen, which has been demonstrated in vitro. So far, this interaction has not been reported in humans.

Levamlodipine is the active half of amlodipine, the same calcium channel blocker used to lower blood pressure. Your body clears it using a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. Lab and animal studies suggest Danshen may speed that enzyme up, which could push Levamlodipine out of your system faster. In one animal study, blood levels of amlodipine dropped by about half.

If that happened in people, the worry would be less blood pressure control, meaning your numbers could creep up rather than any new side effect. The good news: this has only been seen in lab and animal work, never confirmed in humans, so it's theoretical for now. Still, if you take Danshen, please mention it to your pharmacist or doctor so they can keep an eye on your blood pressure.
