Dr. Brian Staiger explains PharmD, Clinical Pharmacist

Here's the piece to pay attention to with Rezira or P-V-Tussin: the pseudoephedrine part is a stimulant decongestant, and green coffee naturally carries some caffeine. Stack two stimulants together and you can pile on stimulant-type side effects, like a racing or pounding heart, jitteriness, feeling wired, higher blood pressure, and trouble sleeping. This is mostly a theoretical concern based on expert opinion, not strong studies, so it's a caution rather than a red alert.

The hydrocodone (a cough suppressant and opioid) isn't really the worry here. Honestly, a regular cup or two of coffee may matter more than a small green coffee dose, but concentrated supplements add up. If you tend to be stimulant-sensitive, run it by your pharmacist or doctor first.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Hydrocodone, Pseudoephedrine page

“Rezira and P-V-Tussin pair hydrocodone, an opioid, with pseudoephedrine, a decongestant, so the 241 supplements here pull in two directions and I would handle this combination with real care. Most entries either deepen the opioid's sedation (78 ingredients are CNS depressants, alcohol included) or stack stimulant effects onto the pseud…”

About Green Coffee

What is Green Coffee?

Green Coffee
  • Weight loss
  • High blood pressure
  • Blood sugar control
  • Antioxidant support
  • General energy

Green coffee is the unroasted bean of the coffee plant, prized for its high chlorogenic acid content. Some early studies suggest modest benefits for weight, blood pressure, and blood sugar, but the evidence is limited and far from conclusive. It contains caffeine, so people sensitive to stimulants should use caution and check with a pharmacist or doctor first.
