These two interact in 2 distinct ways. Each one is explained separately below.
Why Are There 2 Interactions?
Green Coffee interacts with whole categories of medication. Methyclothiazide, Reserpine falls into 2 of those categories, so it can interact with Green Coffee in 2 different ways. We’ve listed each one below — your overall risk is driven by the most serious of them (Moderate).
DIURETIC DRUGS
1 of 2Why this applies to Methyclothiazide, Reserpine
Methyclothiazide, Reserpine falls under DIURETIC DRUGS — the group Green Coffee interacts with.
Green coffee can contain caffeine. Caffeine, especially in excessive amounts, can reduce potassium levels due to stimulation of the sodium-potassium pump. Diuretics can also cause lower potassium levels.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the thing to keep in mind with Diutensen-R: the methyclothiazide part is a thiazide water pill, and one of its well-known quirks is that it can lower your potassium over time. Green coffee contains caffeine, and in larger or concentrated amounts caffeine may also nudge potassium a bit lower. Stacked together, the worry is that your potassium could dip more than either one alone.
I want to be honest that this is a theoretical concern, based on how these things work rather than strong studies. Low potassium can show up as muscle cramps, weakness, or an irregular heartbeat, so it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor, especially before using a daily concentrated green coffee supplement.

ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS
2 of 2Methyclothiazide, Reserpine also falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS.
Clinical studies have shown that green coffee extract decreases blood pressure. When used with antihypertensive drugs, green coffee might have additive blood pressure-lowering effects. However, this has not been shown in clinical research.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Diutensen-R pairs a water pill (methyclothiazide) with reserpine, and both work to bring your blood pressure down. Green coffee, thanks to its chlorogenic acid, may nudge blood pressure a little lower too. So in theory, taking them together could add up and drop your numbers more than expected.
If that happened, you might feel dizzy, lightheaded, or tired, especially when standing up quickly. Honestly though, this is a minor concern, and the research showing green coffee lowering blood pressure on top of these medicines is weak and mostly theoretical. A regular cup of coffee is unlikely to matter much, while concentrated supplement doses are more worth watching. If you'd like to try green coffee, just check with your pharmacist or doctor first and keep an eye on your blood pressure.

“Diutensen-R pairs methyclothiazide, a thiazide diuretic, with reserpine, and both halves work to pull blood pressure down, which is why the 228 supplement and herbal interactions on file here deserve genuine vigilance. Most entries either push blood pressure lower than intended or deepen the diuretic effect, draining more fluid and pot…”

About Green Coffee
What is Green Coffee?
- Weight loss
- High blood pressure
- Blood sugar control
- Antioxidant support
- General energy
Green coffee is the unroasted bean of the coffee plant, prized for its high chlorogenic acid content. Some early studies suggest modest benefits for weight, blood pressure, and blood sugar, but the evidence is limited and far from conclusive. It contains caffeine, so people sensitive to stimulants should use caution and check with a pharmacist or doctor first.
