Here's the situation with hemp and levobupivacaine (Chirocaine). Levobupivacaine is a local anesthetic, usually given by a healthcare provider for things like surgery, epidurals, or nerve blocks. Part of how your body clears it relies on a liver enzyme called CYP1A2. Some lab studies suggest hemp may speed that enzyme up, which could in theory clear the drug a little faster and slightly weaken its numbing effect.

Honestly, I wouldn't lose sleep over this one. The evidence is only from test-tube and animal studies, the interaction is rated minor, and this anesthetic is dosed and monitored by a professional in real time. Still, it's smart to mention any hemp products to the team caring for you so they have the full picture.

Here's the situation with hemp and levobupivacaine (Chirocaine). Levobupivacaine is a local anesthetic, the numbing medicine your doctor injects during surgery or a nerve block. Your liver clears it partly through an enzyme called CYP3A4. Lab studies suggest hemp may speed that enzyme up a bit, which could in theory lower levobupivacaine levels and shorten how long the numbing lasts. This is not a prodrug, so faster clearance means a weaker, shorter effect rather than more toxicity.

Honestly, I wouldn't lose sleep over this one. The evidence is only test-tube and animal data, the rating is minor, and levobupivacaine is given by a professional who can adjust your dose. Still, mention any hemp products to your anesthesia team or pharmacist beforehand.
