Here's the simple version: Rauvolfia vomitoria naturally contains reserpine, which lowers blood pressure on its own. Bosentan (Tracleer) is used for high pressure in the lung arteries, and it can also nudge your overall blood pressure down a bit. Stack the two together and the worry is that your blood pressure could drop too far.

If that happens, you might feel dizzy, lightheaded, or faint, especially when standing up quickly. I'll be honest with you though: this is a theoretical concern based on how these compounds work, not solid proof from studies, and rauvolfia holds only a tiny amount of reserpine. Still, since this plant is potent and not a casual supplement, please check with your doctor or pharmacist before pairing it with bosentan.

What Is Bosentan Used For?

Brand name: Tracleer

Bosentan is used to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) — high blood pressure in the arteries of the lungs. In adults, it helps improve the ability to exercise and slows how quickly the disease gets worse.

In children aged 3 years and older with idiopathic (no known cause) or congenital (present from birth) PAH, bosentan is used to lower resistance in the lung blood vessels, which is expected to improve exercise ability. Tracleer is one brand approved for both adults and pediatric patients with PAH.
