ANTIDIABETES DRUGS
Why this applies to Insulin Aspart
Insulin Aspart falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Rauvolfia Vomitoria interacts with.
Preliminary clinical research shows that drinking a beverage containing Rauvolfia vomitoria foliage and bitter orange fruit lowers blood glucose levels. Hypoglycemic effects of Rauvolfia vomitoria have also been demonstrated in an animal diabetic model.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist: insulin aspart already does one big job, which is to push your blood sugar down. There's some early evidence that Rauvolfia vomitoria may also lower blood sugar on its own. Stack the two together and you could get more of a drop than you bargained for, which means a higher chance of a low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) episode.
With insulin aspart that can show up as shakiness, sweating, a racing heart, confusion, or feeling lightheaded, and a severe low can be dangerous. I'll be honest though, this concern is theoretical, based mostly on the plant's pharmacology and small early studies, not solid human trials. Still, since lows are no joke, please loop in your doctor or pharmacist before combining them, and keep checking your sugars.

“Every one of the 239 supplements listed for insulin aspart (Fiasp) touches the same thing the drug exists to manage, blood sugar, so this list warrants genuine care rather than a quick skim. About Rauvolfia Vomitoria
What is Rauvolfia Vomitoria?
- High blood pressure
- Anxiety and agitation
- Sleep problems
- Mental health symptoms (traditional use)
- Fever and general ailments
Rauvolfia vomitoria is an African shrub whose root contains powerful alkaloids, including reserpine, that have historically been used for high blood pressure and agitation. Because these compounds can strongly affect blood pressure, mood, and the nervous system, the plant can cause serious side effects and is not a casual supplement. Always talk to a doctor or pharmacist before using it.
About Insulin Aspart (rDNA Origin) Injection
What Is Insulin Aspart (rDNA Origin) Injection Used For?
Brand name: Fiasp
Insulin aspart is used to improve blood sugar (glucose) control in people with diabetes mellitus. It is approved for both type 1 and type 2 diabetes in adults, and for diabetes mellitus in pediatric patients.
Insulin Aspart Protamine and Insulin Aspart Mix 70/30 is a pre-mixed product that combines a rapid-acting and an intermediate-acting insulin aspart. It is approved to improve blood sugar control in adult patients with diabetes mellitus. It is not recommended for treating diabetic ketoacidosis, and because its ratio of rapid-acting to intermediate-acting insulin is fixed, it does not allow for separate mealtime versus background dose adjustments.
