Alpha-Glycerylphosphorylcholine
Description:Alpha-GPC (alpha-glycerylphosphorylcholine) is a natural compound found in small amounts in foods such as soy lecithin, and is also available as a dietary supplement. It is a source of choline, a nutrient that is important for brain health and function. Alpha-GPC is particularly known for its potential to improve cognitive function, particularly in the areas of memory and learning. It is also being studied for its potential to improve symptoms of Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia. Alpha-GPC is likely better absorbed and utilized in the body than other sources of choline as it is known to cross the blood-brain barrier. The choline provided from Alpha-GPC is also a precursor to acetylcholine, an important neurotransmitter for cognitive functions such as attention, memory, and learning.

Guarana
Description:Guarana (Paullinia cupana) is a plant native to the Amazon rainforest in South America. The seeds of the guarana plant are used in traditional medicine and as a dietary supplement. Guarana is often marketed as a natural stimulant and is claimed to improve physical performance, increase energy and alertness, and reduce fatigue. It is sometimes added to energy drinks, weight loss supplements, and other products. Guarana seeds typically contain around 3-6% caffeine, although some extracts may contain far more. Guarana, when used in dietary supplements, is often standardized for its caffeine and tannin content.

5-Hydroxytryptophan
Description:5-HTP, or 5-hydroxytryptophan, is a naturally-occurring amino acid and a precursor to the neurotransmitter serotonin. It is used as a dietary supplement to improve mood and help with anxiety, sleep disorders, and other conditions. It is also sometimes used in combination with other medications to treat migraines and fibromyalgia. The 5-HTP found in supplements is most often obtained from the seeds of the tropical shrub Griffonia simplicifolia

Benfotiamine
Description:Benfotiamine is a synthetic derivative of thiamine (vitamin B1) with enhanced bioavailability. It is often used as a dietary supplement to support overall health and address conditions related to thiamine deficiency. Unlike thiamine, benfotiamine is lipid-soluble, allowing it to penetrate cell membranes more effectively. This enhanced absorption is believed to contribute to its potential therapeutic benefits in managing diabetic complications, neuropathy, and oxidative stress.

N-Acetyl L-Tyrosine
Description:L-tyrosine is a non-essential amino acid produced within the body through the conversion of the essential amino acid, phenylalanine. It is often used as a dietary supplement to support cognitive function, enhance focus, and mitigate stress by serving as a precursor for neurotransmitters like dopamine and norepinephrine.

Description:Ashwagandha, also known as Withania somnifera, is a herb commonly used in Ayurvedic medicine. It is native to India, and is used to treat a variety of conditions, including stress, anxiety, and insomnia. Some studies have also suggested that ashwagandha may have potential health benefits for conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, and cancer. However, more research is needed. Ashwagandha is often referred to as an adaptogenic herb, which is theorized to help the body to adapt to stress.

L-Theanine
Description:Theanine, often referred to as L-theanine as that is the predominant isomer of theanine, is an amino acid commonly found in tea leaves, particularly in green tea. It is purported to increase levels of GABA, serotonin, and dopamine in the brain, which can help to reduce stress and anxiety. L-theanine may also promote a sense of calm and improve overall well-being. Some studies have also suggested that it may improve cognitive function, although more research is needed. Most reported drug interactions with theanine are due to its sedative effects.

Phosphatidylserine
Description:Phosphatidylserine is a phospholipid that plays a crucial role in cell structure and function, particularly in the brain. It's a key component of cell membranes, aiding in cell signaling and maintaining cellular integrity. In the context of the brain, phosphatidylserine supports cognitive function, memory, and neurotransmitter regulation. Additionally, it's commonly used as a dietary supplement to potentially enhance cognitive performance and mitigate age-related cognitive decline.

Description:Rhodiola is a type of plant native to the Arctic regions of Europe and Asia. It is also known as "golden root" or "arctic root." The roots and rhizomes of Rhodiola are commonly used in dietary supplements for their purported effects as an 'adaptogen', which are used to improve physical and mental performance, reduce fatigue, and enhance the ability to cope with stress. Rhodiola is believed to work by increasing the production of certain chemicals in the brain (e.g., serotonin, dopamine, and norepinephrine) that are involved in mood and energy regulation. Rhodiola supplements are often standardized to a specific amount of their rosavin and salidroside content.
