Hydrochlorothiazide, Lisinopril falls under DIURETIC DRUGS — the group Green Coffee interacts with.

Theoretically, concomitant use might increase the risk of hypokalemia.
Green coffee can contain caffeine. Caffeine, especially in excessive amounts, can reduce potassium levels due to stimulation of the sodium-potassium pump. Diuretics can also cause lower potassium levels.

Here's the gist with Zestoretic (lisinopril and hydrochlorothiazide). The water pill part, hydrochlorothiazide, can lower your potassium level on its own. Green coffee contains caffeine, and in larger amounts caffeine can nudge potassium a bit lower too. Put them together and, in theory, your potassium could dip more than it would otherwise.

I want to be honest though: this is a theoretical concern based on how these things work, not something proven in solid studies. Low potassium can show up as muscle cramps, weakness, or an off heartbeat, so it's worth knowing. A cup or two of coffee is unlikely to matter, but concentrated green coffee supplements are a different story. Just run it by your pharmacist or doctor, especially if your potassium tends to run low.

Clinical studies have shown that green coffee extract decreases blood pressure. When used with antihypertensive drugs, green coffee might have additive blood pressure-lowering effects. However, this has not been shown in clinical research.

Here's the gist: your Zestoretic combines lisinopril (which relaxes blood vessels) and hydrochlorothiazide (a water pill), and both already work to bring your blood pressure down. Green coffee has been shown in some studies to nudge blood pressure down a little too, thanks to its chlorogenic acid. Put them together and the effects could stack, meaning your pressure might drop a bit more than expected.

If that happens, you could feel dizzy, lightheaded, or tired, especially when standing up quickly. The good news is this is rated a minor, theoretical concern, and it hasn't clearly shown up in real studies. Keep in mind green coffee also contains caffeine, which can work the other way. If you want to try it, just give your pharmacist or doctor a heads-up first.

Lisinopril and hydrochlorothiazide tablets — sold as the brand Zestoretic and as the generic combination — are used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). Lowering blood pressure reduces the risk of serious cardiovascular events such as stroke and heart attack.

This is a fixed-dose combination product and is not intended as a first-line (initial) treatment for high blood pressure. It is typically prescribed for patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled on a single medication alone.
