Safinamide Mesylate falls under MONOAMINE OXIDASE INHIBITORS (MAOIs) — the group Green Coffee interacts with.

Theoretically, concomitant use might increase the risk of a hypertensive crisis.
Green coffee can contain caffeine. Caffeine has been shown to inhibit monoamine oxidase (MAO) A and B in laboratory studies. Concomitant intake of large amounts of caffeine with MAOIs might precipitate a hypertensive crisis.

Here's the thing to keep in mind: safinamide (Xadago) is an MAO-B inhibitor that boosts dopamine to smooth out your Parkinson's "off" times. Green coffee carries caffeine, and in lab studies caffeine can lightly block the same MAO enzymes. The worry on paper is that pairing a lot of caffeine with an MAO inhibitor could nudge your blood pressure too high, in rare cases toward a dangerous spike (a hypertensive crisis).

I want to be honest that this is theoretical, based on how the chemicals behave, not strong human proof. A normal cup of coffee is usually fine for most people on safinamide. The bigger question mark is concentrated green coffee supplement doses. Watch for a pounding headache, racing heart, or chest pressure, and check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding it.
