These two interact in 2 distinct ways. Each one is explained separately below.
Why Are There 2 Interactions?
Green Coffee interacts with whole categories of medication. Torsemide falls into 2 of those categories, so it can interact with Green Coffee in 2 different ways. We’ve listed each one below — your overall risk is driven by the most serious of them (Moderate).
DIURETIC DRUGS
1 of 2Why this applies to Torsemide
Torsemide falls under DIURETIC DRUGS — the group Green Coffee interacts with.
Green coffee can contain caffeine. Caffeine, especially in excessive amounts, can reduce potassium levels due to stimulation of the sodium-potassium pump. Diuretics can also cause lower potassium levels.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist with torsemide and green coffee. Torsemide is a loop diuretic, and one of its known effects is flushing potassium out through your urine, which can lower your potassium level. Green coffee also contains caffeine, and a lot of caffeine can nudge potassium lower too. Put together, the worry is that your potassium could dip a bit more than expected.
To be honest, this is a theoretical concern based on how these things work, not strong proof, and a normal cup or two probably isn't a big deal. But low potassium can cause muscle cramps, weakness, or an irregular heartbeat, so if you take concentrated green coffee supplements, mention it to your pharmacist or doctor so they can keep an eye on your potassium.

ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS
2 of 2Torsemide also falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS.
Clinical studies have shown that green coffee extract decreases blood pressure. When used with antihypertensive drugs, green coffee might have additive blood pressure-lowering effects. However, this has not been shown in clinical research.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist with green coffee and your water pill, torsemide. Torsemide already lowers blood pressure by helping your kidneys flush out extra salt and fluid. Green coffee, in some lower quality studies, may nudge blood pressure down a little on its own. Put them together and the theory is they could add up, leaving your pressure lower than expected.
In real life this overlap is rated minor and hasn't been clearly proven. Still, if you notice dizziness, lightheadedness when you stand up, or feeling unusually weak, that's worth paying attention to. Keep in mind green coffee also has caffeine, which can do the opposite and raise pressure in some folks. It's a mixed bag, so check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding a concentrated supplement.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Torsemide page
“Torsemide (Demadex, Soaanz) is a water pill for fluid buildup from heart failure, kidney disease, or liver disease, and its supplement list earns genuine caution, with 10 of the 251 flagged ingredients rated major. Most entries either pile onto its blood-pressure-lowering effect or add extra diuretic action that can pull your potassium…”

About Green Coffee
What is Green Coffee?
- Weight loss
- High blood pressure
- Blood sugar control
- Antioxidant support
- General energy
Green coffee is the unroasted bean of the coffee plant, prized for its high chlorogenic acid content. Some early studies suggest modest benefits for weight, blood pressure, and blood sugar, but the evidence is limited and far from conclusive. It contains caffeine, so people sensitive to stimulants should use caution and check with a pharmacist or doctor first.
About Torsemide
What Is Torsemide Used For?
Brand names: Demadex, Soaanz
Torsemide tablets are used to treat edema — excess fluid buildup causing swelling — associated with heart failure, renal disease, or hepatic disease. Removing that extra fluid can relieve swelling and make breathing easier.
Torsemide tablets are also used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). Lowering blood pressure reduces the risk of serious cardiovascular events, including strokes and heart attacks. It can be used alone or alongside other blood pressure medications.
