Theoretically, green coffee may increase the risk of bleeding if used with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs.
Green coffee can contain caffeine. Caffeine is reported to have antiplatelet activity. Theoretically, caffeine in green coffee might increase the risk of bleeding when used concomitantly with these agents. However, this interaction has not been reported in humans. There is some evidence that caffeinated coffee might increase the fibrinolytic activity in blood.

Here's the gist for oral treprostinil (Remodulin). It works partly by relaxing blood vessels and reducing how easily platelets clump together, so it already has a mild blood-thinning side. The concern on file is that the caffeine in green coffee may also have a slight antiplatelet effect, so stacking the two could theoretically nudge up your bleeding risk a little. In real life that might look like easier bruising, nosebleeds, or bleeding that takes longer to stop.

I want to be honest though: this is a theoretical concern based on pharmacology, not something actually reported in people, and it's rated unlikely. Everyday coffee amounts are probably not a big deal, but concentrated green coffee supplements add up. Please run it by your pharmacist or doctor before starting one.

Clinical studies have shown that green coffee extract decreases blood pressure. When used with antihypertensive drugs, green coffee might have additive blood pressure-lowering effects. However, this has not been shown in clinical research.

Here's the simple version: oral treprostinil (Orenitram) widens your blood vessels to ease the pressure in your lungs, and one common side effect is a drop in your overall blood pressure. Green coffee has been shown in some studies to gently lower blood pressure too. Put them together and the two effects could stack up, so you might feel more lightheaded, dizzy, flushed, or headachy than usual, especially when you stand up quickly.

The good news is this is rated a minor interaction, and it's mostly theoretical when it comes to combining the two. An occasional cup likely won't rock the boat, but concentrated green coffee weight-loss supplements are a different story. If you take treprostinil, check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding it.

About Treprostinil

What Is Treprostinil Used For?

Brand names: Remodulin, Orenitram

Treprostinil treats pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH; WHO Group 1) — high blood pressure in the arteries of the lungs. Depending on the product and route, it is used to improve exercise ability, delay disease progression, or reduce symptoms tied to physical activity. Remodulin and treprostinil injection products are also indicated for patients who need to transition away from another PAH medicine called epoprostenol.

Tyvaso, Tyvaso DPI, and Yutrepia (inhaled forms) are additionally approved to treat pulmonary hypertension associated with interstitial lung disease (PH-ILD; WHO Group 3) — lung-pressure problems caused by scarring or inflammation in the lung tissue itself. Orenitram (extended-release oral tablet) is specifically indicated to delay disease progression and improve exercise capacity in PAH.
