Here's the honest take on pairing hemp with Vosevi (sofosbuvir, velpatasvir, and voxilaprevir). The concern on file is that hemp might speed up a liver enzyme called CYP1A2, which in theory could lower the levels of medicines that this enzyme breaks down. If that happened, you'd worry about your hepatitis C treatment working less well.

But I want to keep this in perspective. This is a theoretical flag based only on lab studies, not real people, and it's rated as minor. Vosevi isn't a prodrug, so it doesn't need this enzyme to become active. Hemp seeds and oil as a food are very unlikely to be a problem. Since finishing this treatment fully matters a lot, just mention any concentrated hemp supplements to your pharmacist or doctor.

Here's the gist for Vosevi (sofosbuvir, velpatasvir, and voxilaprevir): hemp may speed up an enzyme called CYP3A4, which helps process two parts of this combo (velpatasvir and voxilaprevir). In theory, that faster clearance could lower the levels of these drugs in your blood and make them a little less effective at clearing the hepatitis C virus. With a treatment course you really want working at full strength, even a small drop in drug levels is worth taking seriously.

That said, this concern comes from lab research only, not from real people, so it's theoretical. Still, since finishing hepatitis C treatment successfully is the goal, I'd run any hemp supplement past your pharmacist or doctor first before mixing the two.

What Is Sofosbuvir, Velpatasvir, and Voxilaprevir Used For?

Brand name: Vosevi

Vosevi is used to treat chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection in adults who do not have cirrhosis or who have compensated cirrhosis (mild liver scarring that is still functioning). It is specifically for people who have already been treated with an HCV regimen before and need a different option.

Vosevi is approved for adults with HCV genotype 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 who previously took a medicine that included an NS5A inhibitor. It is also approved for adults with genotype 1a or 3 who previously took sofosbuvir without an NS5A inhibitor.
