Here's the simple version: your Viskazide combo already pushes your blood pressure down two ways. The pindolol is a beta-blocker that eases the heart's workload, and the hydrochlorothiazide is a water pill that lowers fluid volume. Rauvolfia vomitoria naturally contains a bit of reserpine, which also lowers blood pressure. Stack them together and the effects can add up.

What that could feel like is light-headedness, dizziness when you stand, unusual tiredness, or a slower pulse. This concern is mostly theoretical and based on pharmacology, not strong studies, so it may not happen, but I wouldn't take chances with two blood-pressure lowerers. Hydrochlorothiazide, Pindolol also falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES.

Theoretically, Rauvolfia vomitoria might increase the levels and clinical effects of CYP2D6 substrates.
Rauvolfia vomitoria contains small amounts of the drug yohimbine. In vitro research shows that yohimbine inhibits CYP2D6 enzyme activity.

Here's the short version for your Viskazide, which combines pindolol (a beta-blocker) with hydrochlorothiazide (a water pill). The pindolol part is partly cleared by a liver enzyme called CYP2D6. Rauvolfia vomitoria contains a small amount of yohimbine, and in lab tests yohimbine can slow that enzyme down. In theory, that could let pindolol build up a bit, which might make its effects stronger: think extra-low blood pressure, a slower heart rate, dizziness, or tiredness.

I want to be honest that this is theoretical, based only on test-tube data, so it may not amount to much in real life. The bigger concern is that rauvolfia itself strongly lowers blood pressure, so stacking it on blood pressure meds could drop your readings too far. Please check with your doctor or pharmacist before combining them.
