Here's the gist: Brovana (arformoterol) is a long-acting medicine for COPD that relaxes and opens your airways. It belongs to a family of drugs called beta-agonists, and one common side effect is a bump in heart rate or a jittery, shaky feeling. Guarana is basically a concentrated source of caffeine, which is its own mild stimulant on the heart.

When you stack the two, the worry is that the caffeine could add to arformoterol's stimulant effects, so you might notice more of a racing or pounding heartbeat, jitteriness, or trouble sleeping. To be clear, this concern is mostly theoretical and based on how both work, not on strong studies. An occasional cup of coffee likely won't be an issue, but loading up on guarana energy products could. If you have any heart concerns, please check with your pharmacist or doctor first.

What Is Arformoterol Oral Inhalation Used For?

Brand name: Brovana

Arformoterol tartrate inhalation solution is used for the long-term, twice-daily maintenance treatment of bronchoconstriction (narrowed airways) in adults with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), including chronic bronchitis and emphysema.

Important: This medication is not intended to treat sudden COPD flare-ups or acute breathing emergencies — it will not work fast enough. It is also not approved for treating asthma.
